Before you run out and meet that person to purchase that iPhone, you may want to read this!
Looking to go out and buy a used iPhone from a person on Facebook or Craigslist?
Here are a few tips you can use before buying that iPhone!
Make sure to have a nano sim card and sim slot pick handy.
That way you’ll be able to put your sim card into the phone to make sure it gets signal.
Make a test call, browse a few web pages to make sure internet works, send a few text and mms.
If all goes well, proceed to tip 2!
I think this step is the most important and should be step one but….
Make sure there is no icloud account logged into the device. If so ask the seller to logout.
If the seller can not logout, don’t be fooled by the “I forgot my password” line. its probably stolen —-walk off.
If the device is on the activation lock screen. Find a place to connect to wifi or even tether your current phone and ask the seller to login to the account. If not —- walk off Lol.
Make sure to check the imei of the device. There are several sites you can use to check the imei like SWAPPA to make sure its not reported stolen, has a past due bill, or financed.
If the deal is too good to be true, chances are it is and you’ll not be able to use it on your account —walk off.
Check to make sure that everything works. Speaker, mic, touch id, vibrate switch, screen, earpiece, headphone jack and camera.
If all goes well the chance is high that you’re buying a good iPhone.
